Presbyterian Women

The Presbyterian Women at Holmes Presbyterian Church seek to be the hands and feet of Christ in the world. They study scripture as well as issues of justice and peace as the foundation of their pursuit of global mission and local community-building.

The Presbyterian Women are an active outreach group here at Holmes. They regularly prepare meals for the residents of Light House Ministries, and they undertake other mission projects like assembling Safe Motherhood Kits, providing food baskets for the hungry, and offering hospitality and meals to gleaners in our area. Offerings collected at their monthly meetings have benefitted organizations like HumanKind, Massanetta Springs Conference Center, Union Presbyterian Seminary, Light House Ministries, Eastern Shore Literacy Council, Riverside Shore Hospice, and Northampton Social Ministries. They also participate in national Presbyterian Women’s offerings such as the Fellowship of the Least Coin, the Thank Offering, and the Birthday Offering.

The Presbyterian Women also contribute much to the life of our congregation by organizing flowers for weekly worship, making fresh wreaths for the Advent and Christmas season, sending cards and care packages to our students and shut-ins, and coordinating our fellowship meals. Pretty much nothing happens at Holmes without the help of these wonderfully dedicated women!

The Presbyterian Women at Holmes Presbyterian Church meet on the first Wednesday of the month at 10am. These meetings include Bible study, fellowship, and mission activities.  If you are interested in learning more or joining, please contact us!
